Phase Foods

Definition of "Phase Food": A "treat" food I have consistently eaten 2 or 3 times a week for at least a 4-week-long stretch; a food that becomes synonymous with "treat," and when springing to mind, is accompanied by a heavenly choir...until it does not spring to mind at all...because another phase-food has taken its place. (Pregnancy patterns excluded)

Phase Foods of Weeks Past:
  • Kraft crunchy peanut butter on toast;
  • Mint Slice biscuits;
  • Chocolate Buttersnap biscuits;
  • Custard Squares;
  • Moro milk;
  • Pistachios;
  • Pesto on toast;
  • Thaw-and-serve mini chocolate eclairs;
  • A&W rootbeer floats;
  • Pringles;
  • Strawberry-flavoured soy milk;
  • Maltesers;
  • Oreos;
  • Kit Kats;
  • Twisties;
  • Super Sammies; and
  • Rose Turkish Delight.
It is very rare for me to have more than two phase foods at once. I just stop buying Oreos, and start buying Kit Kats. It's a bizarre phenomena.

Current Phase Foods:
  • Verkerk's Biersticks*;
  • Bounty Bars; and
  • Vanilla Chai-flavoured soy milk*.
*I do not foresee an end to these phases.
