Eight Preferences at 8:00

  1. So, have you seen or heard about the rudeypoo Pinterest clone?  Rudeypoo, right?  I mean, even if I wasn't a pinner, I'd think so.  While I respect it's a "legitimate" and very real source of revenue -- creating copycats, generating a following, and selling your copycat to the creators of the original -- I think I'd be ashamed to say that was my job.  Would you?  "Pinterest" just sounds better too.
  2. When I visit a public restroom, I always go to the furthest stall from the door I came through (I still give the distant loo a quick look-over for tidyness -- doesn't everybody?).  Because...by my reckoning, it is the least used of the bunch, since the lazies have all opted for the first/closest available stall.  I hope that less butts on the seat equates to cleaner, in terms of the things I cannot see -- built up between scheduled cleans.
  3. I like my new blog look so much more than my old one.  It was time for change.  It's still a work in progress, but I'm happier when I see it.  (What, you haven't seen it yet?  Go on..)
  4. I would rather eat a couscous salad over a rice salad, pretty much always.
  5. Haki has stopped asking me how I want my eggs...because I always say "scrambled."  He eats his eggs in all manner of ways, depending on his mood; me -- fluffy* eggs is always preferred.  And yes, my husband asks me this question because he often offers to make us all eggs. *If by "scrambled" you mean watery dross, then no, that's not what I mean.
  6. I only buy free range eggs.  This was not always so.  Florence and Nicole, you are my catalysts.  I still find this incredibly hard on our budget, given how many eggs our family consumes, but principles aren't always cheap. Also, I can't "Save all. the. things"...but I can buy free range eggs.  "Ouch," whimpers my wallet.
  7. I still prefer a PC to a Mac, and I've dabbled in the Apple.
  8. Are Eve apples not the most perfect apples you've ever tasted?  Were apple-growers everywhere crying when they tasted the new variety and looked over their orchards of poor cousins that would no doubt drop in sales?  Seriously -- do you buy Eve?

1. No I hadn't. That is a SUPER cheeky business idea! Rudey indeed.
2. I do that too. With the same logic. Ha!
3. Nice!!
4. You obviously haven't tried MY rice salad.
5. Oh I think there is definately a place for poached. Nom!
6. Same. Currently reading 'Eating Animals' by Jonathan Safran Foer, and I think it's going to convince me into either free range EVERYTHING or veganism.
7. PC. Never used the others.
8. Yes we do buy these :)

PS. Just finished the hunger games trilogy! CAN'T WAIT FOR THE MOVIE. AHHHHH.

2. No! Last and first are to be avoided. I aim for next to last.

Whatever number is the new look. I love the new look! That is a terrific picture at the top. I just redid mine as well (so my more modern!) and took the pictures off my header, but I'm going to add some back in if I ever take a decent one of the boys.

A friend who did psych at Uni once told me that she learnt that most people go to the last stall because it offers more 'privacy'.

I feel...guilty now. If you have market gardens near you they often sell trays of free range eggs for the price you'd pay for a dozen in the supermarket. Do you think they taste better? I do.

I buy Eve. They're not as good as Pacific Rose...but they be good alright.

One of my goals last year (for real) was to master the art of cooking eggs in various techniques. I poached my first egg, and then poached a second when the first one came out weird. I learned a very, very hot pan is necessary for the perfectly fluffy scrambled egg, and a good over-medium egg cannot be done without a lid. This year's food goal is to learn the art of yeasty breads. Will that induce you to move out here and be my neighbor?

Love the new look.

I buy eggs from a local person too. Happily, they aren't TOO much more expensive (about double) and we aren't egg fiends, so it's only about an extra $1.50 a week or so.

Also, I've never heard of Eve apples. My life is sad.

You KNOW we buy Eve :) When we need to stew apples for the boys when they are ill though or if I need to stew apples for baking I just can't bring myself to peel and cook those beauties so I usually ask Fuzz to buy a pre-packed bag of "cheapies". Then I don't feel so bad.

2. I tend to go for the middle to last stall.
3. Had to look - love it!
4. I'm not a fan of rice in any form but bubbles and risotto.
5. I'm with you on the fluffy. Though do vary my preference of cooking too.
6. We're fortunate that a workmate grows his own organic everything and the excess he sells to those that want. This not only includes eggs, but we get fresh, still-warm-from-the-cow's milk and only have to pay 80c/L!!
8. Love Eve apples. Only ones I buy since I discovered them.

I read somewhere about somebody who hung out in a bathroom keeping tabs on which stalls got used the most, and the most popular was the second stall. The hypothesis was that people thought the first stall was used the most and was therefore pretty yuck. So I usually go to the first stall, or skip a few down and go to a middle-ish one. It all depends how big the place is.

I like the new look too.

So I'm getting gipped. I've never heard or seen Eve apples but now I definitely want to!

- hadn't heard of pinspire - terrible name sounds like perspire. And yes, copying is rude!
- poached eggs with runny yolks are the best.
- PC never had a MAC - but they look cute, all white and pretty.
-LOVE your new header - but loved the old too - I obsess about mine and try not to always be fidgiting with it!
- Eve apples are awesome - such a clever name too.
- Feeling a bit guily about buying cage eggs now - soo much cheaper. Also now wish that I lived next to Dee.
(Totally wrong order I know - just as it came out of my head!)

I'm with Sherry. I also read that the first stall is often avoided because people think it is the most used so therefore I always use the first stall.

Now I want to go and make some eggs and I just ate dinner an hour ago. Thanks!

Eve apples all the way! You can't beat a good scrambled egg on multigrain toast :-)

I tend to go to the last one too - because I think it is usually vacant and I presumed cleaner - but reading your comment got me wondering - maybe the cleaner doesn't make it down to the last one as often? Just a thought? Pretty mundane. Braeburns and eve rock - someday they might even have them here in Aussie.
Free range through coles are about the same as cage. Seems weird. You could get your own chickens:) like a few people seem to here. How is Primary? Will have to look at your new look (blog that is)!
