Picture Book Round-up: Circus Ship, Fairytale Subversion, and a Tear-jerker

The Circus Ship, Chris van Dusen
This book was a sure win with Esky -- exotic animals and a ship!?  Add to that quirky stylised illustrations, fun text and a tight little story.  Oh, and in-built "finding" challenges.../singing "aaaawesome."
The Paper Bag Princess, Roberth Munsch and Michael Martchenko
Haki scoffed upon finishing this one.  I laughed.  Political correctness has a lot to answer for, but this I wouldn't list this among its's more a tongue-poke at the usual folly.  I like it, and so does Esky.
The Gobble Gobble Moooooo Tractor Book, Jez Alborough
A cheeky string of onomatopoeia, twisted into a new read-along favourite.
Dogger, Shirley Hughes
What a tear-jerker!  Award-winning for a reason.
