Skip GR Reviews, and just read this space story

The Loneliest Girl in the Universe, Lauren James
This book is best enjoyed knowing less.  Read the jacket copy if you must, but no more;

Romy Silvers is the only surviving crew-member of a spaceship travelling to a new planet, on a mission to establish a second home for humanity amongst the stars. Alone in space, she is the loneliest girl in the universe until she hears about a new ship which has launched from Earth – with a single passenger on board. A boy called J.

Their only communication with each other is via email – and due to the distance between them, their messages take months to transmit across space. And yet Romy finds herself falling in love.

But then war seems to have broken out on earth.

I'll say no more on narrative.

What I can tell you (just the advisory stuff):
  • There's a handful of curse-words.
  • There's suggested masturbation (x2) and some consideration of sex.
  • It took me about 2.5 hours to read.
  • You'll know pretty early that some sad things have happened for the heroine in space.  There's definitely sad content.
At the start of reading this I remember thinking, "Mediocre.  Probably not gonna to keep this one."  But I flipped big time.  You should totally get your hands on a copy.  It's out September 7th.

Review copy received from Walker.
